Terrible to deal with. Held my security deposit and gave inconsistent reasons for doing so. Please save time and headache and do not rent from them.
URGING EVERYONE TO AVOID AVALA EQUITIES. They are a nightmare beyond belief, certainly not worth the pain. To be honest, I cant believe a business like this exists. Aside from the smoke/weed scented stairwells and that you can hear neighbours cough, talk, walk from all directions as if they are in your room... You simply do not want to deal with these people. My security deposit was not returned. I was hung up on, ignored, sent improper paperwork, then threatened to be reported for harassment
Please listen to the reviews because I wish I would of seen them before I rented from Avala Equities, do not rent from them! They are a absolute nightmare to deal with. From beyond HORRIBLE, RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL management beyond belief to the bed bug and cockroach infestations they lie about. Save your money and piece of mind and look elsewhere!
Vedran was a nightmare to work with.
An absolute nightmare. I have been dealing with bedbugs in my building for over 3 months and 4 sprayings have been done with no results and aftet requesting to leave I was told I will be fined for breakingmy lease. This company is a disgrace and anybody considering renting from Avala should seriously reconsider.
Excellent service. I've rented a number of short term accomodations from Avala Equities. They have always been helpful, clean, friendly, and accommodating. I continue to use them whenever I stay in Edmonton.
Overall a very disorganized company. Place we moved into was filthy and we couldn't get anything fixed. Finally got fed up and moved out and it took months of fighting to get our deposit back. Don't waste your time it's not worth the headache.
I moved in & paid the full rent & damage deposit. I discovered the stove was not working and the kitchen sink was only dispensing cold. I notified the manger of the issues and was told they would be fixed. It has now been more than 3 weeks and every time I ask about fixing it they keep making up excuse and not fixing it. Finally I am fed up and want to leave. They decide I am breaking the lease and will not give me the damage deposit. sigh
I lined up a one bedroom apartment with Vedran over the phone after viewing ad online. E-mailed the requested $200 deposit to hold the apartment after being accepted as a tenant verbally on the phone. Left Ontario on April 2nd and arrived in Edmonton on April 5th. On Thursday the 4th I was informed that the original unit would not be available due to maintenance issues but was assured another would be available at a discount due to the inconvenience. Upon arrival in Edmonton train station I was informed by Vedran that there was a problem with that unit as well but he would call me within an hour. As of today the 6th, my fiance, myself and our dog and cat are stuck in a $150/night hotel and they still have my deposit and I can't get any info as to whether they are even going to be able to accommodate us at all.
